Hi there - how I came to be here?

Hello Guys!

I am starting this to share some of the experiences that I have whilst using Social networking to promote my party plan business.
Let me admit to you here and now - I'm no expert, as the info says I'm just doing my best to use social networking to raise the profile of my party plan business.  If you'd also like to hear what I have picked up and how it's worked please feel free to read on.

Since starting this two years ago I have progressed to being a branch manager and I currently have a team of 6-7 consultants who I am helping to build their businesses.
It's not been easy and I've had setbacks on the way (including an incident earlier this year involving high heels, and evening dress, stilettos, red wine and marble steps - but more about that another time)

The reason that most people enter this line of work is because they'd like to earn a little extra money flexibly around either children, hobbies or existing work commitments, and I'm no different.  I've got no children (unless a boyfriend and a very demanding cat count) but I do have a job, that boyfriend & cat, a liking for socialising and spend lots of time helping out at the local theatre.

THE most common thing I hear is "I've not got enough time", but I've been given some figures about this most common response.  Everyone has 168 hours in a week.  If they work full time that's -40, then sleeping -56 (if you get a full 8 hrs a night), -51 hrs for eating, watching TV & socialising/spending quality time with family (that's with a really full social life!!) Leaving a whole 21 left over!!

If you're thinking about taking this up do your own sums on a general week - and be honest about how much time you want to invest in your business - most will give you a time & money breakdown so you can work out how much those extra hours could be worth.

Once you've worked that out be honest with yourself and the person sponsoring you - Do you want the money enough to give the time? If the answer is Yes - Great! You never know where it might take you (I know a lot of people that do this full time)
If it's No - then that's OK too, no-one should take you saying no personally because it just means that you're not in place to trade the time for the money.
